Projection Mapping

The brief was self-determined I aimed at focusing on the role of technology on audiovisual performances. This is an area that I am passionate about and will hope to pursue after University. The principles of design I am interested in is installation art, sound, visual expression and interaction. This is why I have chosen to investigate the use of new technology incorporation with sound, in particular how technology creates a visual connection between sound and sight. This advancement allows us to visually view music adding to the experience making it more exciting and immersive.

I created a 3D model that I then project mapped visuals on to. In order to make a more immersive experience I created an equaliser and a live video feed that the artists could use in their performance. The programs I used were MadMapper, Millumin, Google Sketchup, Syphon, After Effects and Quartz Composer.
