Jake Sharratt

UX/UI Designer

I am energetic and enthusiastic designer with great interest in all facets of design, my primary focuses being in UX/UI design and branding. That being said, I always love a challenge and strive to better myself in any and all areas of the discipline. Prior to university I had no experience with design at all academically, although I did spend more time creating silly doodles than learning how to analyse a poem in english… However I did invest a lot of my own time collaborating with other creatives on several small projects, from comic books to sketch videos learning through these projects leading up to university.

My decision to pursue design at university was probably one of the best decisions I have made. More specifically choosing IMD, which allowed me to explore design on a larger scale and ultimately refine my direction and cement where I want to take my future in design. Not only this but I have been presented with great opportunities throughout my time at university, the most significant being my internship at Hedgehog Lab, spanning June 2016 - April 2017 in which I gained invaluable experience in a professional environment.

That aside, although I'm living in Newcastle I'm a Yorkshire lad through ’n’ through, don't worry though, I wont forget to mention it. Outside of my design work Im a huge rugby league and combat sport fan currently training in Thai boxing. As well as loving my sports, I'm a self confessed geek particularly with the marvel universe and playing video games…a lot. Out of all the things I love to do, my favourite is to meet new people, so if you spot me come have a chat.
