Asda – Save Money Live Greener

We created a campaign to help Asda customers save money and reduce their environmental impact by making more sustainable shopping choices.

I worked with two animation students, Harry Johnston and Juan Garcia. My main responsibility involved redesigning the Asda app and implementing the new features we came up with.

Challenge

95% of Asda customers care about being green, although 73% say the greener options are often too expensive. How might we encourage customers to make more sustainable shopping choices by helping them save money?

Solution

We created a campaign to raise awareness, educate and support shoppers in ways they can save money and reduce their environmental impact. We designed new features to work within the Asda website, focussing around the benefits of shopping seasonally.

Impact

Although this project was purely conceptual and will not be implemented into the Asda website, I believe it could help bring about lasting behaviour change. We have addressed the frustrations of Asda customers and created a coherent campaign that speaks to Asda’s brand.

Leftover Ingredients 

Customers can find other recipes based on any leftover ingredients from their kitchen or the meals already added to their trolley.

This helps customers use up all of each ingredient through the week, reducing food waste and saving money on additional items.

Helps customers reduce their food waste and save money by planning their meals from Monday to Friday.

The leftover ingredients and midweek menu features work best together, as customers can add up to 5 recipes to use up the most of each ingredient throughout the week.
