The Brief
The service needs to be beneficial to the older people as a way to encourage social interaction and confidence building. It should consider different levels of expertise, confidence and proficiency in using technology (e.g. different generations have different experiences and expectations on what technology can do). It should also benefit the local community and individuals who are using the service to help grow their knowledge of urban farming techniques and create stronger community links.
The Outcome
Sprout is an app designed to bring the urban growing community together. Being experienced or not, Sprout will help users start their urban growing journey. Our concept consists of a subscription box to help new growers get started on urban growing, where they are able to customise their box within the app. The app contains interactive features where inexperienced & experienced growers are able to discuss, trade and even find growers nearby in their area.
